De Pyramide van Miep en Math. Miep en Math waren de beste vrienden van mijn ouders. Mijn jeugd is onlosmakelijk met ze verbonden. Ze gingen mee op kampeervakanties, waren op alle feestjes of organiseerden ze zelf. M’n moeder had een tijdlang samen met Miep een winkeltje onderin de drive-in woning waar ze woonden voordat ze deze pyramide zelf ontwierpen én bouwden, ergens in de jaren '80. Elke oud&nieuw stond de hele buurt hier binnen. Ik heb hier gelogeerd (ze hadden een ongestabiliseerd waterbed) en talloze dagen doorgebracht met stapels boeken en platen. Vorig jaar overleed Math, afgelopen zaterdag namen we afscheid van Miep. Wat er met de pyramide gaat gebeuren weet ik niet, maar hij zal altijd staan voor twee mensen die ik mijn leven lang zag als mijn tweede ouders. Creatief, eigenzinnig (wonen in een pyramide is best onpraktisch) en altijd op zoek naar de vrolijkheid en schoonheid in de dingen.
